Mainland love!

My lovely little friend Vicky Mueller arrived last night! Her FIRST trip ever to Hawaii land :) I am so excited for her to be here and experience what I love so much...this island, the people, the food, the ocean, etc., etc., etc.!

Her exact words: "I haven't been "lei'd" since my college graduation!

The family has come and gone and what a wonderful 10 days it was!! I seriously can't remember the last vacation that was that perfect! 10 days was just enough for everyone to get a good fill of Hawaii, the beach, tourists spots, and get plenty of rest in between. The weather was great, providing us with plenty of sunshine in the day time and night time showers that cooled things down perfectly. The beach house was perfect, providing us with a fantastic view of the ocean and sunrise every day. It really couldn't have been more perfect! I was worried that my Grandparents wouldn't enjoy themselves, especially Grandpa beings that it wasn't Idaho and the farm country he knows and loves. However, much to my delight, he loved it! On the last day of their visit, we came over the hill by the Dole plantations with fields and fields of pineapples over looking the ocean and he said "You guys are just making me fall more and more in love with this place every minute." He even went so far as to get his toes wet (all the way to his knees!) in the ocean! It was truly a wonderful time had by all and it reminded me how important family is and how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful and amazing place...

I am so grateful for this island and all it has had to offer me. My experience of moving here and living here has truly been such a blessing. I have lived here for exactly one year now and can't imagine my life without Hawaii. It's not the hype...it's the peace and the beauty and, to be cliche and cheesy...it's the "spirit of aloha" that has truly made my life so amazing.

Gosh what a great week it was.

The Mac is BACK!

I am back! I finally got my new Mac Book Pro and I am ready to take on the blogging world once again! It has been a long few months on this beautiful little island...Scooter broke, got evicted, mac book stolen...yada yada yada. BUT that is all ok because everything works out in the end, if not better!!! I thought about catching my blog up to where I have been and what I have been doing since I went to the main land in July but that would take toooooooooo long SO I am just going to start here and move forward...

That being said...MY FAMILY GETS HERE TOMORROW!!!!!! I cannot WAIT to have them here in Hawaii for 10 glorious days! My sister, my mother, my grandparents, my aunt cass and my uncle dave!!! OH HOW AMAZING IT WILL BE!!!!

I will definitely blog our series of adventures!
