Dinner Anyone?

Just sitting down to have some dinner at home if anyone would care to join me....

Great day for....THE BEACH.

I forced myself to do several straight hours of homework. I turned in four assignments, did some journals, and took a quiz.

Hard work deserves a reward, right?

So I packed up and spent three lovely hours at Temple Beach and it was AMAZING. It was such a nice day...light little breeze, hardly any clouds...It was perfection!!

AND I got to sport my new shades...

BEST DAY.

I now know with a surety that I am a happier girl in the sunshine.

AND the beach is just a HUGE added bonus!!!

Today was Prince Kuhio Day!! Who is he? I have no clue. But I have a day off because of him so he is an alright guy in my book! AND where do we spend our days off when the sun is shining and the ocean is calling?! OH why not go to Waimea!

We were SOOOO lucky to have such a nice day to enjoy care free.

Have I mentioned how much I love my life?

Guiltily...I do. There isn't a moment I would change.

Everything that got me to Hawaii was worth it, every hurdle I had to climb and figure out and work past was nothing compared to the happiness and joy that I feel in my life today.

I can't yet think about going to Arizona because when I do, the pit in my stomach begins to ache so for now I will just avoid it and continue to fall in love with life more and more every day!

My little danish DELICIOUS girls are back in America!!

Erin and Kristian have officially left Denmark and are back in the good ol' USA for good now. Although I still feel a world apart, I just love knowing that they are so close!!

Hunger reaping game seam.

Well. Today is hunting day or reaping day or hungry day or game day or....something. I don't know exactly what people are calling it BUT bottom line is...at midnight tonight (in 10 minutes) The Hunger Games will hit the big screen. Per my usual fashion, I am never one to be a band wagon jumper so I started reading the books today. I promised my friend I would see the movie with her and she can't see it until next month SO I guess I am in no hurry to get them done :)

But that being said...here I go!

Reunited!

Kaneohe 6th Branch came up to Laie for a little temple/dinner night and I got to see some of my old friends from Kailua. It was a nice little reunion night :)

Across the Ocean...

My Mom is in LA this week for work which is where my cousin, her husband, and 2.5 children (semi-recently) moved to from Alaska. I know it was hard for them to leave their Alaska home BUT I selfishly love that they are closer!!! I know it's fun for my Mom to see them in her travels and once I am back on the mainland, being next door will be so fun! I can't wait to meet her little man and the new little *BOY* they are going to have SO SOON!!! And I love technology that allows me to be with them even if I am miles and miles away...

Rooster.

A couple weeks ago, Rooster started acting a little funky. Like maybe he wasn't getting enough gas when I accelerated or wasn't just quite up to his usually spunky self so we loaded him up in the back of Shelby's truck and delivered him to Murph's North Shore Scooter Shop for a little fine tuning:

AND a week later, Danielle and Murph delivered him right to my front door, red-neck style in his lawn chair and all!! When they pulled up I about died...I was laughing so hard!! All Murph needed was a wife beater and a 40 ouncer in his hand! HA!

I was sitting on a bench waiting for my next class to begin and I was watching this group of young children running around the courtyard playing and this little girl walked up to me and said "Hello!" and then proceeded to show me her Hello Kitty purse. She then hopped on her bike and told the boys she was going to beat them home. IT WAS ME! 23 years ago! Ha ha! With that AWESOME Dorothy Hamill haircut, thanks to my mother, and showing the boys what was up!

Mr. Golden Sun

Well the rain has made us all a little stir crazy around here so the first sign of sunshine, I packed up my bag and we all ran for the beach!

Luckily I didn't have to work until 3:30 so I got several good quality hours of sunshine, body surfing, and laying on the beach! There was a whole group of us gals just posted up on Hukilau soaking in the much missed and much needed sunshine!

AND apparently I didn't gage the strength of the sun because I got a little toasty :)

New Purchase.

I realize this looks crazy but I am not bringing all my bedding housing goods from Hawaii to Arizona with me...things like towels and pillows and sheets and bed spreads and dresser, etc. So as I was laying on my current comforter the other day, I started day dreaming of what new one I would get. (The fun part about moving so much is you get to create new living spaces.) So I got online and found some that I really liked from Urban Outfitters:

I liked all of them for different reasons and I wasn't sure how on early I was going to decide which one to get! I started reading all of the customer feedback comments on them and discovered none of them were actually as good as they appeared in the picture. One's actual colors were nothing like the online photos, anothers size was way off, and the thirds had print issues once the customer saw it up close. SO the quest went on... I got on Anthropologie's website knowing full well that I couldn't afford anything on there but figured it didn't hurt to have a little peak. Everything I found was, just as I had guessed, $300-600 dollars. Most were very bulky and busy and, while beautiful, not exactly what I was looking for. Then on the side bar it read "based on this selection, you might like this:" and it took me to a comforter set in the CLEARANCE SECTION. (Now we are talking...) and I fell in LOVE INSTANTLY!!! I ordered it. Without hesitation. I didn't know how long it would be on sale or online and it was everything I wanted. Bright, colorful, not too full but not to loud and juvenile. There is a lot of subtle accenting that you can do with it as far as pillows and rugs and photos go which is also a bonus! So I ordered it to my Mom's house in Oregon AND.....IT HAS ARRIVED:

Thanks to the amazing Pinterest...I stumbled upon this little treasure of a resort/hotel. I WANT TO BE HERE SO BAD RIGHT NOW IT HURTS!!! The color and the styling and the vibrance of it all makes me SO HAPPY! And this coming from a girl living in Hawaii that is surrounded by color and beauty on the daily!

WHO IS WITH ME?!

FaceTime with Montana.

We finally figured out how to use FaceTime on Wynn's Mac so for the first time (and many many more to come!) I got to talk to Wynn and Addie and Hudson! It was fun! I can't believe how much Addie has grown up into this little talking walking moving grooving little person! I can't wait to see her in real life!!!!!!! And that Hudson...so adorable. I see Trent in him SO much... It will be so nice to be in these kids lives a little bit more once I am living back in the real world again!

The Great Laie Flood.

So. The rains came down and the floods came up. No, for real. It didn't stop raining for 10 days straight here. Which is a far cry from the 2 years ago where the record was 107 days but still...10 days worth of solid water caused quite the disturbance in our little country town. School was canceled, rooms were flooded, cars were stuck, homes were damaged... It wasn't pretty. Even though I live up on a higher place of the town, we woke up at about 6am friday morning to water on the floor of the bedroom. The large window at the head of my bead had been leaking for what appeared to be most of the night. We had quite a mess on our hands. Luckily nothing of major importance got too terribly wet and we were able to get things dry before it got moldy. It was a pretty crazy few days around here before things got dried out.

Uncle Leonard came to town!

Malasadas. God's gift to people who love warm, gooey, sugared foods. They are brazilian doughnuts, not even Hawaiian, but everyone on this island LOVES THEM. They even have a "Malasada Day" dedicated to this scrumptious treats! The main shop is in town but they have a few food trucks that make their way around the island and apparently it is our lucky week!

Baby Murph.

I threw a baby shower for my little Danielle tonight! It was a success and a good turn out and the food was delicious! I made her a little diaper cake which I was very proud of! Being a person who is NOT crafty, I think it turned out pretty well!

There were 12 of us total and we all met at Café Hale’Iwa for dinner, a few games, and gifts.

We also played a few games while we waited for our food to come out…one being taste testing baby food and having to guess what it was. I thought it was a riot! Some people refused to sample the jars which was ok but the ones who did made some great faces! It was fun! I think the best one was mango which actually tasted like mango sorbet!!

I think Danielle had a really nice time as well. She got some really great gifts, lots of diapers, and seemed like she had a lot of fun! I caught a few pictures where the look on her face really summed it up:

All in all it was a really fun evening of girls and baby talk and eating and fun. I just love Danielle and I can’t wait to hold her little baby boy/girl!!
