Another long distance skype sesh...

First off, I would like to PROUDLY report that during my Denmark skype session, Anja looked at my face on the screen and said (WITHOUT PROMPTING OR HELP!)...."Erika!" Yes, that's right. I am her favorite. It made my entire week!!! She is the cutest thing ever. I love hearing how wild and unruly she is...makes me proud even if it's giving her parents hell :)

And then there is Signe. OH my gosh is she adorable. And she looks just like Erin. I wish I could suck on those cheeks of hers because they look absolutely delish!!!!

Anyways, here are some lovely pics of our skype date last night. As much as I wish I lived closer, I am grateful for technology and the ability to see people who are so far away!! Especially the loves of my life...

Henry!

This post is dedicated to my little Henry...who, much to my dismay, has left me for the mainland. The mainland?! Yes, the mainland. I can't begin to understand who would want to leave Hawaii by CHOICE but...I choose to forgive him and love him from afar. This post is dedicated to him for two reasons: 1. He just left. 2. Most of my pictures are with him so it seems only appropriate. Life here in Hawaii is great right now. Aside from Henry leaving me, things are really really good. School is slow for the term and work is full force which is good. The weather has been hit or miss with the rain but I don't mind...it makes me appreciate the sunshine all over again. I truly do love it here. I ride my scooter along the coastal line and still feel truly blessed to be here. I hope this feeling never goes away...

Anyways, here is my last few weeks in photos. We had a lot of fun before Henry left, I will admit!

Speaking of baby baby baby...

SINCE it's official on facebook and all, I will announce on my little blog here that my best friend Emily and her husband Seni are...PREGNANT! I am so excited for them. Seriously. THEY ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS!!! and I am going to be an auntie of a little brown baby! MY FAVORITE <3 ha haa haaaaa. No really, I am so happy for these two!! I couldn't be more in love with two people than I am with these two. If only I could convince them their baby wanted to be born in Hawaii.

My cousin Shirlee and her husband Kris (along with their daughter Callee) have officially welcomed their new baby boy into the world and into their little family! He was born up in Alaska just weeks before the family will relocate to L.A. with the coast guard. The little man is so cute!! I can't wait to see him in person!!!

And OF COURSE, Callee is going to be the best big sister ever!!

A visit from Ms. Emily Morrill :)

My dearest little friend Emily Morrill came to visit Hawaii and HOW much fun we had! We laughed a ton, saw the hot spots, and spent some nice quality time up on the North Shore. It was so fun to have her here, she's just the sweetest thing ever, and I really needed some good girl laughing time...and got plenty! Emily is like a little sister to me and I just love her to death. I am so happy for her and the direction her life is headed and I am just grateful she took some time out of her world to come and visit me!

Reasons 821 & 822 as to why I love Hawaii:

Weekend Get-a-way.

As much as I love my little north shore life, when my old landlords asked me to house/dog sit for them this weekend (the weekend after finals!), my imediate answer was YES PLEASE! It will be a nice little weekend vacation from my vacation life. I feel almost guilty saying that. But I am grateful to have a few days here away on the water! I am still in awe of my life most days...and hopelessly in love with it at the same time.

^I plan on cozying up here with a good book most of the weekend.

Living in the Ghetto...

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE WHERE I LIVE. But up here, life is very...country. We have no major stores, no major food chains, nothing. It's super small town, super surf town. And while I do love it, it does have it's funny "draw-backs" if you will. Actually, no. I take that word back. It forces me to be creative.

For example, I left my running iPod with arm band at work so I had to use my brick of an iPod instead. I don't have a running arm band for this one so I was just going to carry it in my hand when I ran. Annoying. SO beings as there is no where for miles that sells any sort of running carrier, I made my own water/sweat proof one: TADA! saran wrap! I covered that puppy, shoved him in my sports bra, and went on my merry way. I would say my iPod stayed 99.9% dry.

I will deem my invention/creative juices a success.
